Job Summary
TheSenior Data Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions that supportDistribution Management System (DMS) S3 Services. The role involves working with operational datasets used in real‐time distribution operations, optimizing database performance, and ensuring high data accuracy and integrity for mission‐critical DMS applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implementrelational and/or NoSQL database structures to support DMS S3 applications and operational workflows.
- Develop stored procedures, triggers, functions, and scripts to support DMS business logic and data processing.
- Monitor and optimizedatabase performance, ensuring high availability and scalability for distribution network operations.
- Implement effectiveindexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
- IntegrateDMS platform data with external systems, enterprise applications, and operational interfaces.
- Performdata migration, transformation, and cleansing activities for project deployment.
- Ensure robustdatabase security, backup strategies, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Maintain compliance withindustry standards, cybersecurity requirements, and utility operational guidelines.
- Work closely with application developers, system architects, and DMS engineers to support solution delivery.
- Develop and maintaintechnical documentation, data dictionaries, and version-controlled database artifacts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in database development and administration.
- Strong proficiency inSQL, PL/SQL, and database technologies such asOracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.
- Experience withdata modeling, ETL pipelines, and database performance tuning.
- Familiarity withDMS platforms, ADMS concepts, or energy domain data models is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally forworkshops, site testing, commissioning, and customer support.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge ofSCADA/DMS/EMS systems, grid operations, and integration workflows.
- Experience withcloud-based databases such as Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or similar architectures.
- Exposure toPython or Java for database automation, script orchestration, or data processing.
- Understanding ofdata governance, data quality methodologies, and real-time operational data flows.
Additional Requirement
- Travel: The candidate should be willing to travel to client sites or project locations as needed for workshops, testing activities, and deployment. Travel will be occasional and based on project requirements.
