Job Title:Senior Data Architect (BigQuery | Airflow | Analytics | Agile POD Lead)

Role Overview

We are seeking aSenior Data Architect who brings togetherstrong analytics architecture, data engineering depth, and Agile delivery leadership.

This is aplayer–coach role. You will design and own the data architecture while also leading execution within a POD — breaking down work, assigning stories, guiding engineers, and ensuring consistent sprint delivery.

The ideal candidate is hands-on withBigQuery, SQL, data modeling, and Apache Airflow, and is comfortable stepping into aScrum Master–style leadership role to keep the team aligned, productive, and outcome-focused.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Modeling

Design and ownenterprise-grade analytical data models
Define facts, dimensions, grain, aggregation, and semantic consistency
Architect scalable, cost-efficient schemas inBigQuery
Establish data modeling standards, naming conventions, and governance
Ensure architecture supports BI, analytics, and AI use cases

Data Engineering & Pipeline Enablement (Airflow-Focused)

Provide architectural and hands-on guidance forApache Airflow–based pipelines
Design and review DAGs for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows
Ensure pipelines are reliable, observable, and scalable
Partner with Data Engineers on pipeline structure, scheduling, dependencies, and SLAs
Align pipeline design with downstream analytics and AI requirements

Analytics Platform Enablement

Architect datasets that powerLooker / Looker Studio
Ensure tight alignment between data models and BI semantic layers
Optimize SQL queries for performance and cost efficiency
Partner with BI consultants to ensure trusted, executive-ready analytics

Agile Leadership & POD Execution (Critical)

Act as theAgile lead / Scrum Master for the Data & AI POD
Break down initiatives intoepics, user stories, and technical tasks
Assign stories and tasks across Data Engineers, BI consultants, and analysts
Run sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
Track velocity, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments
Remove blockers and ensure consistent sprint execution
Align architectural decisions with sprint-level delivery goals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product, AI, and Business stakeholders to translate goals into execution plans
Serve as thetechnical and delivery point of contact for the POD
Review work for quality, scalability, and adherence to best practices
Ensure alignment between business outcomes and technical delivery

AI & Future-State Readiness

Design data foundations that supportAgentic AI and autonomous analytics
Enable feature-ready datasets for ML and AI workflows
Ensure the platform supports experimentation, iteration, and long-term scale

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

8+ years of experience inData Architecture, Analytics Engineering, or Data Engineering
Deep expertise in:
- BigQuery
- Advanced SQL
- Dimensional and analytical data modeling
- Apache Airflow (hands-on DAG design and orchestration)
Strong understanding ofdata pipelines, ingestion patterns, and transformations
Proven experience leadingAgile PODs or squad-based teams
Hands-on experience with:
- Story creation and backlog management
- Sprint planning and execution
- Task assignment and delivery tracking
Excellentspoken and written English
Experience working withU.S.-based stakeholders

Nice-to-Have

Experience withLooker / LookML
Exposure toPython-based data pipelines
Familiarity withAI/ML-ready data architecture
Prior experience acting as aplayer–coach or technical Scrum Master
