Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About The Job:

• We are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Application, Cloud & AI Security to support product and engineering teams in embedding security into day-to-day software and cloud delivery.
• The consultant should bring a strong combination of software security, development, cloud security and security governance experience, with hands-on expertise in GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) and strong hands on experience in secure software development and cloud security along with understanding of AI security and emerging security risks related to AI/GenAI solutions.

Essential Job Functions:
Describe the scope of the consultant’s assignment.

• The consultant will provide hands-on cyber security engineering support to product teams, with a focus on software security, cloud security, authentication and authorization, vulnerability management, GHAS and AI security & governance.

Day-to-day tasks

• Support product teams with day-to-day security requirements, risk identification and remediation.
• Drive and support GHAS, CodeQL and software security activities, including vulnerability and security findings remediation.
• Provide guidance on authentication, authorization, IAM and secure API/integration patterns.
• Review cloud solutions and provide hands-on guidance on cloud security architecture, configurations and security controls.
• Support security assessments, threat moClienting, pen test and vulnerability management activities.
• Advise teams on security governance, standards, policies and engineering baselines.
• Create and maintain security documentation, recommendations and risk assessments.
• Prepare and present security findings, recommendations and status updates to technical and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with product teams, architects, developers and Cyber Security stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Desired knowledge, experience, competence, skills etc

• Strong experience in software/application security and secure software development.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), CodeQL and DevSecOps.
• Good development background with the ability to understand code, application architecture and software delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of cyber security fundamentals, authentication, authorization, IAM and access controls.
• Hands-on experience in cloud security, preferably across Azure and GCP.
• Good understanding of cloud security architecture, governance, AI security controls and risk management.

• Strong understanding of AI security and emerging security risks related to AI/GenAI solutions.
• Strong software/application security expertise with GHAS, CodeQL and development experience.
