Job Description

Our client is seeking aSenior Legal Counsel (Contract Review Specialist) to join their legal team on a part-time basis. This is a 6-month contract position requiring approximately 20 hours of work per week. The role is specifically focused on contract review and negotiations, playing a crucial part in the strategic management of the university's contractual engagements.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements to support various academic and operational needs.

• Ensure compliance of all contracts with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.

• Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on contract terms, risks, and legal obligations.

• Develop and deliver training sessions on legal and contract-related matters to staff across the organization.

• Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary to ensure comprehensive legal support.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Missouri.

• Proven experience in contract review, drafting, and negotiation, preferably within the higher education sector or a related field.

• Strong understanding of legal principles related to contracts and organizational operations.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.

• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating legal concepts to non-legal personnel.
