Senior Cloud Engineer

About The Job:

• We are seeking a highly skilledSenior Cloud Engineer with extensive experience in software development, cloud engineering, and DevOps practices to lead cloud infrastructure automation initiatives.
• The ideal candidate will focus on building and automating Cloud Landing Zones, implementing scalable cloud-native solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and operation of enterprise cloud platforms.
• This role requires deep expertise in Azure cloud services, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps methodologies, cloud security, and modern software engineering best practices.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Lead cloud infrastructure automation initiatives with a focus on Cloud Landing Zones and platform standardization.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate development best practices, code quality standards, and automation frameworks.
• Guide and mentor development teams in DevOps engineering, cloud automation, and modern software delivery practices.
• Design and implement cloud-native applications utilizing serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven patterns.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes using GitOps methodologies.
• Apply cloud security best practices and implement secure authentication and authorization solutions.
• Monitor, optimize, and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Research and adopt emerging cloud technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Ensure software systems meet both functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to design, testing, and security standards.
• Promote continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring activities.
• Support cloud governance, operational excellence, platform engineering, and enterprise modernization initiatives.

Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (AWS experience is a plus).
• Strong background in software development and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on expertise in Azure infrastructure automation.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven application patterns.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies.
• Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and secure design principles.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
• Experience leading and mentoring development and engineering teams.
• Expertise in software architecture, software engineering, systems testing, and cloud-native solution design.
• Strong technical leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Experience implementing quality gates including code reviews, pair programming, and technical review processes.
• Experience with code management and release strategies including Monorepo and Multirepo models.
• Strong understanding of functional programming concepts and techniques.
• Knowledge of SDLC processes and software engineering principles including DRY, KISS, and SOLID.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization protocols such as ABAC, RBAC, JWT, SAML, Azure AD, and OIDC.
• Expertise in event-driven architectures including queues, streams, batch processing, and pub/sub messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of scalability, concurrency, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience with cloud networking, proxies, and enterprise connectivity solutions.
• Deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines, GitFlow, Flux, ArgoCD, and GitOps frameworks.
• Polyglot programming expertise in at least two languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Golang.
• Experience operating Kubernetes clusters including CRDs, Operators, and Controllers.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting serverless cloud applications.
• Strong proficiency with GitHub for source control, collaboration, and code reviews.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Experience with React, React Hooks, and TypeScript is an added advantage.
• Deep understanding of Azure cloud services with working knowledge of AWS.
• Experience with Crossplane.io for cloud infrastructure management is a plus.
