Job Title:Senior Backend Engineer Experience: 12+ Years Location: Jersey City, NJ Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilledSenior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in building and supporting cloud-native backend platforms. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can independently design, develop, deploy, and manage backend services usingKotlin, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, WebFlux, AWS, and Terraform. This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly contribute with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend platform services and APIs.
• Build cloud-native microservices usingKotlin,Spring Boot,Spring Cloud, andWebFlux.
• Deploy, configure, and manage AWS infrastructure usingTerraform.
• Provision AWS resources manually through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
• Configure, deploy, and manage containerized applications onAWS ECS.
• Collaborate with architecture and platform teams to ensure highly available and resilient systems.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement best practices around observability, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and production support activities.

Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills

• Comfortable in usingKotlin with Spring boot
• Extensive hands-on experience withSpring Boot,Spring Cloud, andWebFlux.
• Deep understanding of reactive programming concepts and microservices architecture.
• Strong experience withAWS Cloud Services.
• Expert-level experience inTerraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managingAWS ECS (Elastic Container Service).
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend platform services.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native application design.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies and cloud deployment strategies.

Experience

• 10+ years of overall software development experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Kotlin and modern Spring ecosystem.
• Proven experience independently delivering backend and platform engineering solutions in AWS environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging platforms.
• Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, or Prometheus.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
