Senior Backend Developer

We are looking for an experiencedSenior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python, Django, and PostgreSQL to support the development, optimization, and maintenance of scalable backend applications.

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of database architecture, API development, system performance, and security best practices. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building reliable, high-performance solutions.

Duties / Task to Perform

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Design and manage PostgreSQL databases, ensuring efficient data structures, indexing, and query optimization.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support application functionality and system integrations.
• Analyze and improve database performance, scalability, and overall system efficiency.
• Implement and maintain logging and monitoring solutions using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana).
• Work with Docker to containerize applications and maintain consistent development environments.
• Support application deployment and infrastructure-related tasks using AWS services.
• Apply encryption, authentication, and security best practices to protect applications and sensitive data.
• Implement and optimize caching and data management solutions using Redis.
• Troubleshoot backend issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to maintain code quality, reliability, and application performance.

• Strong professional experience in backend development, preferably at a senior level.
• Advanced proficiency inPython and SQL.
• Strong hands-on experience withDjango and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Solid knowledge ofPostgreSQL, including database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience using theELK Stack for application logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience withDocker and containerized applications.
• Working knowledge ofAWS services and cloud environments; deep expertise is not required.
• Understanding of encryption techniques, authentication methods, and backend security practices.
• Experience withRedis for caching or data management.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical priorities, and contribute to scalable backend solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience withCelery for asynchronous task processing and background jobs.
• Familiarity withWebSockets for real-time communication and application functionality.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm (EST)
