Senior Associate Research Scientist I
Location: Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
Pay Rate: $34.00–$35.00/hour, paid weekly
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Duration:6 month contract
Overview
The Senior Associate Research Scientist I supports analytical testing for development and process characterization projects within a Bioanalytics and Analytical Operations laboratory.
This laboratory-based position performs analytical testing using modern instrumentation, maintains laboratory equipment, documents testing activities in laboratory notebooks or LIMS, and supports investigations and technical reporting.
Responsibilities

Perform analytical testing using Karl Fischer moisture analysis, coagulation assays, enzymatic assays, immunoassays, and related laboratory techniques.

Perform testing in a cGXP-regulated environment while following established procedures and regulatory requirements.

Utilize proper pipetting techniques, including volumetric, positive displacement, and reverse pipetting.

Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including coulometric titrators, coagulation analyzers, immunonephelometers, and plate readers.

Accurately document laboratory activities in research notebooks and LIMS.

Identify abnormal or unexpected test results and support investigations and root-cause analysis.

Contribute to technical reports and laboratory documentation.

Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and documentation standards.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related scientific field.

Master’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 3–4 years of relevant experience.

Hands-on analytical testing experience in a cGXP environment.

Experience with laboratory instrumentation and analytical test methods.

Strong understanding of method validation, CMC development, and laboratory documentation practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Strong troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological materials and laboratory chemicals.

Ability to wear required PPE, including protective eyewear, garments, and gloves.

Ability to perform repetitive fine-motor tasks, including pipetting.

Ability to lift approximately 15–30 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform laboratory activities throughout the workday.
