Senior Application Architect - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Application Architect - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC; Pennington, NJ; or Plano, TX. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a Senior Application Architect with deep expertise in IBM Sterling Integrator (SI), Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), and enterprise networking to lead the design, modernization, security, and resiliency of mission-critical B2B integration platforms. The role will partner with Security, Infrastructure, and Support teams to design secure, scalable, and highly available solutions supporting external client connectivity and enterprise data exchange. This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design secure, highly available, and resilient IBM Sterling SI/SSP solutions
• Lead IBM Sterling modernization initiatives, including SI 5.x to 6.x upgrades
• Design and implement B2B Edge, DMZ, and secure file transfer architectures
• Partner with Security and Network teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and remediation requirements
• Analyze existing integration architectures, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
• Develop and maintain architecture, operational, and security documentation
• Support automation, monitoring, deployment, and production support processes
• Collaborate with global development, infrastructure, release, and support teams

Requirements:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Integrator (SI) 5.2.6+, including implementation, upgrades, installations, patching, and production support
• Strong experience with Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), SSP Configuration Manager, and External Authenticator
• Proven experience leading IBM SI 5.x to 6.x upgrade initiatives
• Expertise in BPML, XML, XPath, and XSLT
• Load Balancers (LTM/GTM)
• Firewalls, DMZ, Reverse Proxies
• Authentication and Authorization Services
• Experience with Linux/Unix and Shell scripting
• Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments

Desired skills:

• Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, JMS, JDBC
• Angular or modern web technologies
• Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic
• Maven, Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket, Ansible, Postman
• Oracle SQL
• Strong networking and security knowledge, including: TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, SFTP, FTP, AS2, HTTPS
• IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) and IBM ITX experience
• OpenShift, containerization, and cloud integration experience
• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments

Pay range:$58.31 - $66.31 per hour
