A rapidly growing Fintech in NYC is scaling its data team and hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer. Join a growing data team to build and own the core data models that power reporting and analytics across the business. You'll design scalable data models and marts using dbt and a modern cloud data warehouse, working closely with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to make sure the data behind key decisions is clean, consistent, and trustworthy.

What you'll need:

• 6+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a mix of both
• Proficient in building and organizing data models. Grain, fact versus dimension design, star schema, history tracking, incremental models, lineage. 
• Foundational SQL analytics. Window functions (LAG and similar), self joins, and knowing which function to use when.
• BI mindset. Thinks about who consumes the data and what they need. A mix of modeling and BI is the target.
• One MPP warehouse (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks). BigQuery is the actual stack, but the others are fine.
• Looker or LookML (Tableau and Power BI are acceptable)
• Python or similar programming experience, and cloud experience (GCP or AWS).
• Comfortable with a BI tool like Looker or Tableau
