The ideal candidate will haveconstruction accounting experience, strong job and project accounting knowledge, and hands-on QuickBooks experience. This position will oversee accounting activities ranging from AP and AR through month-end close and financial statement preparation, while also managing payroll processing and complex project billing.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle as a hands-on individual contributor
- Handleaccounts payable and accounts receivable
- Performjob costing and project accounting for construction projects
- Prepare and processcomplex customer and project billing
- Managepayroll processing
- Complete monthly account reconciliations andmonth-end close
- Prepare monthlyfinancial statements and financial reporting
- Monitor project costs and maintain accurate project accounting records
- Research and resolve billing, accounting, and reconciliation discrepancies
- Maintain accurate general ledger activity
- Support externalaudit requests and provide necessary schedules and documentation
- Partner with operations and project teams to ensure accurate accounting and billing for projects
- Assist with additional accounting and financial projects as needed
- Construction industry accounting experience required
- QuickBooks experience required
- Strong experience withjob costing and project accounting
- Experience handlingcomplex/project-based billing
- Full-cycle accounting experience, including AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
- Hands-on payroll processing experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to independently manage multiple accounting responsibilities
- Ability to workonsite 5 days per week in Gaithersburg, MD
