Job Summary:
Executes and evaluates key accounting activities to maintain accurate financial records, resolve discrepancies, and support operational reporting. Ensures strong financial governance by supporting audits, maintaining compliance, and coordinating cross‑functional efforts that enhance accuracy and efficiency.Job Description:
- Executes core accounting activities by preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, managing accruals, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and supporting daily accounting and month‑end close processes.
- Resolves accounting transaction issues by applying strong problem‑solving skills to identify discrepancies, correct journal entries, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of reconciliations.
- Evaluates Asset Suite CPA’s, accrual reports, payment transactions, and suppliers’ statements to ensure accurate accruals and thorough variance analyses.
- Monitors and analyzes financial data to identify discrepancies and determine appropriate solutions that strengthen accuracy and reporting quality.
- Supports audit readiness and financial integrity by providing required documentation for internal and external audits and ensuring continuous compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates with cross‑functional teams to support financial reporting and operational needs while contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Interprets, applies, and reinforces company policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring robust compliance with all applicable laws, industry regulations, and internal governance requirements.
- Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.
- Performs additional responsibilities aligned with senior‑level expertise and organizational needs, contributing to strategic projects, team development, and enhanced operational flexibility.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years' experience with functional role responsibilities such as general accounting, financial analysis, reconciliations, accrual management, audit support, compliance oversight, and cross‑functional coordination, and working with data collection, analysis, interpretation. and decision‑support activities.
- Experience developing or improving policies, SOPs, workflows or programs.
- Proven experience leading projects or initiatives of moderate complexity and influencing cross‑functional teams.
- Recognized subject‑matter expertise, serving as an advanced resource and consultant to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or audit, preferred.
Additional experience may substitute for required education when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of experience performing similar functions and at least 7 years of experience performing a previous position as Specialist-level role or equivalent.
- High School or equivalent (GED) when accompanied by a minimum of 12 years of experience performing similar functions described and at least 9 years of experience performing the responsibilities of a Specialist role.
Competencies (Skills)
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel, familiar with Asset Suite and Oracle, with additional aptitude in programming languages and database management. Power BI, Power Query and Visual basic for Applications knowledge is preferred.
- Analytical & Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities with close attention to detail.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English language and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time Management & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments in a fast‑paced environment.
