Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Bank & Client Money Reconciliations

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank and client money accounts.

• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances.

• Ensure full compliance with DFSA Client Money rules.

Revenue Recognition & Intercompany Transactions

• Raise and manage invoices across SPVs.

• Monitor and reconcile intercompany balances between corporate and client money accounts.

Accounts Payable & Expense Management

• Record supplier invoices upon receipt.

• Manage supplier payments (cheques, online transfers, petty cash).

• Prepare monthly accruals (e.g., EOSB, depreciation, prepayments).

• Reconcile credit card and petty cash balances.

• Review overhead costs and ensure accuracy of expense allocations.

Payroll & Reimbursements

• Manage monthly payroll and employee expense reimbursements.

• Ensure accurate accounting of all HR-related financial transactions.

Tax Compliance

• Register SPVs and the corporate entity for UAE Corporate Tax and VAT.

• Maintain FTA portal data and file tax returns on time.

• Monitor VAT thresholds across SPVs and ensure compliance.

• Prepare and file VAT returns quarterly, ensuring timely payments and penalty avoidance.

Audit Support

• Assist in preparing audit documentation and liaising with internal and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.

• Experience in financial services in the UAE, especially with client money reconciliation, isrequired.

• Strong understanding of UAE tax regulations and DFSA reporting standards.

• Proficient in accounting software and Excel (Google Sheet); experience with multi-entity accounting is a plus.

• Attention to detail, ownership mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
