The role involves applying technical expertise with responsibility for product and process application to ensure product integrity and manufacturing output while leading continuous improvements, working with both labs and factory operations.
Our team develops new or modifies current processes, defines process equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyroscopes (RLG). The role influences the planning and designing of manufacturing engineering processes by determining parts and tools needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for both existing and new processes/product technologies. This position will focus on return goods diagnosis, processing, and re-shipment manufacturing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM field
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing, test, fabrication, or assembly processes
- Must be a U.S person
- Prior work experience in the relevant industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Product, process, manufacturing, or test engineering experience
- Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects
- Hands-on work ethic, initiative, and ownership of responsibilities and actions
- Knowledge of RCCA, Lean, Six Sigma, and FMEA tools and methodologies
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide manufacturing support for RLGs, specifically glass machining
- Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends
- Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis
- Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions
- Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow
- Facilitate a self-driven workforce culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals
- Test products & software
- Complete failure analysis, manufacturing assembly, and test on returned goods
