Are you passionate about securing access at scale and helping customers navigate complex identity and access management challenges? Amazon's Corporate Identity and Access Management (IAM) team is seeking a talented Security Support Engineer to deliver innovative approaches to securing access management across one of the world's largest technology platforms.
In this hands-on role, you will support programs that directly impact how thousands of business owners manage security across the company. You will drive the remediation of known security issues, guide customers through adopting new security products, and help them align their configurations with the latest security standards. This is an opportunity to build foundational skills in security operations while making a measurable impact on Amazon's security posture.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Handle security-related support cases within the IAM technology domain, resolving common issues and escalating larger, critical, or complex issues with good judgment
- Assist customers with following remediations steps, identify any blockers, and recognize patterns or trends.
- Work directly with customers to help them adopt new security products or adjust their configuration to meet current security standards
- Contribute to scripting and security tooling efforts that reduce manual effort and improve consistency
- Support security metrics delivery and help identify opportunities for improvement
- Document case investigations, articulating customer impact, steps taken, and case status, while following information security and data classification guidelines to keep customer data safe.
A day in the life
You will work directly with customers to help them adopt new security products or bring their configurations in line with the latest security standards. Cases are typically assigned to you and, as you build expertise, you will resolve them independently or guide the customer to resolution, seeking help from more experienced engineers when an issue appears complex or when additional permissions are required. As you develop, you will begin to recognize recurring issue patterns and apply automation to help drive bulk remediations.
