Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Security Engineer II. This is a hybrid on site a couple days a month in Chicago suburbs' multiple locations. You will help this company strengthen its cybersecurity posture by improving security controls, leading incident response, and supporting risk and compliance across the enterprise. We are looking for passionate Security Engineers who are creative, curious and confident.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
At least 4 years of cybersecurity analyst or engineering experience, including security application ownership and project leadership. 8-10 years total experience having started career in IT this is a hands-on engineering role.
4 years plus experience with automation and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell
Experience implementing security tools, documenting processes, ensuring ROI and acting as internal experience for the organization as a security engineer
Must have on or more certification such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+ and love for learning about current trends and advancing professional skills
Knowledge of security architecture, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response across endpoint, network, application, and cloud systems.
Experience with security controls and tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, IDS/IPS, CSPM, CNAPP, or SOAR, including automation.
Bachelor's degree required
Knowledge of HIPAA, PCI, and NIST, with strong communication, project management, and mentoring skills.
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Act as the security engineering lead on complex security incident investigations, response, and recovery; identify threats and vulnerabilities and participate in an on-call rotation as assigned.
Manage 2–3 security applications; improve controls, troubleshoot issues, and automate workflows.
Assess system risks and security requirements before and after implementation; measure and report security capabilities.
Develop and communicate security policies, standards, procedures, and awareness materials with business and IT partners.
Support audits and compliance, deliver security projects, and mentor junior team members.
Experience with the following are highly desired: CrowdStrike Falcon EDR/DLP/Client, Tenable security Center, MS E5, Delina, Qualys, XDome/Medigate, Prisma, Cisco FTD.
Compensation Information
The expected hourly pay range for this position is $46–$72 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
