Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Python, BDD automation frameworks, and SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, validating backend data, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
• Build and enhance BDD automation frameworks using Behave or Pytest-BDD.
• Create and execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test cases.
• Write complex SQL queries to validate backend data and database integrity.
• Automate REST API testing using tools such as Requests, Postman, or RestAssured (Python equivalents preferred).
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to understand business requirements.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Perform defect tracking, root cause analysis, and test reporting.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Behave or Pytest-BDD.
• Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, stored procedures, window functions, aggregates).
• Experience with API automation testing.
• Knowledge of Selenium WebDriver or Playwright for UI automation.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Performance testing knowledge using JMeter or Locust.
• Basic Linux/Unix commands.
• Experience with Allure or Extent Reports.
• Exposure to Microservices architecture.
