SDET - Nexus (Breeze with Kafka) - (Tester)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and execute automated tests for web applications and APIs.
• Work with Kafka-based applications and validate event-driven workflows, message publishing, consumption, and data integrity.
• Validate integrations between Nexus/Breeze components and downstream/upstream systems.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report defects with clear technical details and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, architects, and other QA engineers to resolve issues.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure automation code follows established coding and quality standards.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and continuously improve test coverage and automation efficiency.
• Contribute to test strategy, automation framework enhancements, and overall quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / SDET roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in test automation using Java, Python, or a similar programming language.
• Strong knowledge of Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with API testing and REST services.
• Good understanding of Apache Kafka, including topics, producers, consumers, partitions, offsets, and message validation.
• Experience testing event-driven and distributed applications.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle and version control systems such as Git.
• Good understanding of CI/CD tools and practices.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, defect management, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with debugging and root-cause analysis of application and integration issues.
