Role Overview
We are seeking a skilledQA Automation Engineer with strong experience in bothManual and Automation Testing, preferably within theUtilities domain (Energy, Gas, Water). The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in modern automation tools, strong programming skills, and experience building scalable test frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and executemanual and automated test cases for web and API applications
- Performfunctional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Build and maintainrobust automation frameworks (Hybrid, BDD, POM)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, Business Analysts, DevOps) in anAgile environment
- Validateend-to-end business workflows, especially related to billing, customer management, and data processing
- PerformAPI testing and validate backend integrations
- Analyze test results, log defects, and track them using tools like JIRA
- Participate inCI/CD pipelines and ensure automated test execution in build processes
- Conductdatabase validation using SQL queries (good to have)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Software Testing (Manual + Automation)
- Mandatory experience inUtilities domain (Energy / Gas / Water)
- Strong understanding ofFunctional Testing and Automation Testing concepts
- Hands-on experience with automation tools:
- Selenium WebDriver
- Cypress / Playwright
- Tricentis Tosca (preferred)
- Proficiency in at least one or more programming languages:
- Java
- Python
- JavaScript
- C#
- Experience withtest automation frameworks:
- Cucumber (BDD)
- Hybrid / Data-driven frameworks
- Experience withAPI testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured, etc.)
- Familiarity withCI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Knowledge ofversion control systems (Git)
Good to Have
- Experience inDatabase Testing (SQL, data validation)
- Exposure tocloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Experience withtest management tools (TestRail, Xray)
- Understanding ofDevOps practices
Domain Experience
- Prior experience working inUtilities domain applications, such as:
- Energy/Electricity billing systems
- Smart metering systems
- Customer information systems (CIS)
- Outage management systems
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Quick learner with adaptability to new tools and technologies
