$5,000 University of Waikato Sponsors’ Award

The University of Waikato Sponsors’ Award is a prestigious $5,000 scholarship designed to support individuals who demonstrate academic readiness and a strong commitment to Bay Venues and the University of Waikato. Bay Venues has 2x $5,000 scholarships available. 

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for nomination, applicants must:

• Be a Bay Venues Employee at the time of the study year commencing in 2027.
• Be a permanent Bay Venues for at least 6 months prior to Trimester A starting. 
• Be eligible for domestic tuition (NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Australian Citizen residing in NZ).
• Be enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Waikato Tauranga Campus (full-time or part-time).
• Demonstrate alignment with the strategic goals of both Bay Venues and the University.

What the Award Covers

• A total of $5,000, which may be allocated toward tuition fees, accommodation, or other approved study-related expenses.

Application Process

• Applicants apply using the following form.
• Applications are reviewed by a panel against metrics to ensure fairness in scoring.   
• Nominations close on 13 November 2026 and winner communicated prior to 11 December 2026.
