Its new classrooms, laboratories, and campus facilities directly shape the learning environment for students across Los Angeles.PMCS Group, Inc. is seeking two experienced Scheduler IVs to serve as the scheduling authority on active construction projects at Los Angeles Pierce College and Los Angeles Harbor College. In this senior role, you will protect project timelines and budgets, evaluate contractor performance, and give program leadership the analysis it needs to make sound decisions.
Position Overview
- Title:Scheduler IV
- Openings:2 (one at each campus)
- Locations:Los Angeles Pierce College and Los Angeles Harbor College
- Work Setting:On site, with travel to multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties
What You Will Do
Schedule Development and Oversight
- Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies
- Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance
- Review contractor weekly and monthly schedule progress, prepare narratives of findings, and present them to management for decision-making
- Review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules
- Conduct construction and project site visits for progress reporting
Delay, Change Order, and Claims Analysis
- Perform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claims
- Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule
- Participate in change order negotiations
- Identify schedule-related problems during project execution and recommend corrective actions and creative solutions
Cost and Performance Analysis
- Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses
- Perform cost analysis in support of the design and construction phases of capital projects
- Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance
- Prepare cost-loaded schedules to support comprehensive cash flow projections
Contract and Program Compliance
- Understand, interpret, and apply contracts, policies, and procedures within BuildLACCD guidelines
Minimum Required Qualifications
All candidates must meet each of the following requirements:- 10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or other related field. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education.
- Advanced proficiency in specified software including, but not limited to, Primavera Scheduling Software, MS Office Applications including Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of cost engineering and scheduling.
- Experience with time impact analysis.
- Experience with construction claims and change orders.
- Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties.
