Anderson University and the College of Health Professions seeks qualified candidates for a part-time Adjunct Instructor position within the department of Community and Public Health. The Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction in Community and Public Health courses at the undergraduate level. This is a teaching-only position with no research or service obligations required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver course instruction in accordance with established course syllabi, learning objectives, and departmental standards
Create an inclusive and academically rigorous classroom environment conducive to student learning
Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other course-appropriate assessments
Maintain accurate and timely grade records in accordance with institutional policies
Communicate course expectations clearly through a well-organized course syllabus distributed at the start of each term
Maintain scheduled office hours or availability for student consultation as required by departmental policy
Participate in required faculty orientations and departmental meetings as requested
Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and academic integrity standards
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
Demonstrated professional experience in the field of community and/or public health
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
Preferred Qualifications
Prior college-level teaching experience in community or public health
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CHES, CPH, or equivalent)
Experience with student-centered and active learning instructional strategies
Familiarity with course management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
Working Conditions
Traditional seated classroom environment
Schedule varies by term based on course availability and departmental need
Compensation is per course/credit hour in accordance with institutional adjunct pay scale
