Part Time Faculty - Community and Public Health

Anderson University and the College of Health Professions seeks qualified candidates for a part-time Adjunct Instructor position within the department of Community and Public Health. The Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction in Community and Public Health courses at the undergraduate level. This is a teaching-only position with no research or service obligations required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver course instruction in accordance with established course syllabi, learning objectives, and departmental standards

• Create an inclusive and academically rigorous classroom environment conducive to student learning

• Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other course-appropriate assessments

• Maintain accurate and timely grade records in accordance with institutional policies

• Communicate course expectations clearly through a well-organized course syllabus distributed at the start of each term

• Maintain scheduled office hours or availability for student consultation as required by departmental policy

• Participate in required faculty orientations and departmental meetings as requested

• Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and academic integrity standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution

• Demonstrated professional experience in the field of community and/or public health

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior college-level teaching experience in community or public health

• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CHES, CPH, or equivalent)

• Experience with student-centered and active learning instructional strategies

• Familiarity with course management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)

Working Conditions

• Traditional seated classroom environment

• Schedule varies by term based on course availability and departmental need

• Compensation is per course/credit hour in accordance with institutional adjunct pay scale
