SAP TM Advanced Consultant

About The Job:

• Experience Level: 8+ Years Overall SAP Experience (6+ Years in SAP TM Advanced)
• We are seeking an experienced SAP TM Advanced Consultant with strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management (TM) to lead solution design, configuration, implementation, and optimization initiatives across complex transportation and logistics processes.
• The ideal candidate will possess deep functional knowledge of SAP TM Advanced capabilities, extensive implementation experience, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions while driving standardization and best practices.

Essential Job Functions:
SAP TM Solution Design & Implementation

• Lead and participate in end-to-end SAP TM Advanced implementations across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes.
• Design, configure, test, and deploy SAP TM solutions aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Drive TM solution architecture discussions and recommend optimal transportation management strategies.
• Support business process transformation initiatives related to transportation planning, execution, and freight settlement.

Functional Configuration & Optimization

• Perform expert-level configuration and support for Freight Order Management.
• Configure and optimize Freight Unit Building and Planning processes.
• Implement and manage Carrier Selection frameworks.
• Support Transportation Planning & Optimization (VSR Optimizer).
• Configure Freight Costing and Charge Calculation.
• Manage Freight Settlement processes.
• Implement Tendering and Carrier Collaboration solutions.
• Support Transportation Execution and Monitoring.
• Integrate SAP TM with Event Management capabilities.

Business Analysis & Solutioning

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate transportation and logistics requirements into scalable SAP TM solutions.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend SAP standard solutions.
• Lead solution workshops, CRP sessions, and business demonstrations.

Technical Collaboration & Documentation

• Prepare detailed RICEFW functional specifications for:
  • Reports
  • Interfaces
  • Conversions
  • Enhancements
  • Forms
  • Workflows
• Collaborate with ABAP, integration, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Support SIT, UAT, cutover planning, go-live, and stabilization activities.

SAP S/4HANA TM Expertise

• Implement and support SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management solutions.
• Work extensively with Embedded TM architecture.
• Support Public Cloud and Private Cloud deployment models.
• Provide recommendations for S/4HANA TM optimization and roadmap planning.

Master Data Management

• Manage and implement TM Master Data including:
  • Business Partners
  • Products
  • Locations
  • Transportation Lanes
  • Resources
  • Charges and Rate Tables
  • Organizational Structures

Frameworks & Enhancements

• Configure and support BRF+ (Business Rules Framework Plus).
• Configure and maintain PPF (Post Processing Framework).
• Support workflow, output management, and rule-based processing requirements.

Best Practices & Governance

• Champion SAP standard functionality and industry-leading practices.
• Minimize custom developments through effective SAP TM solution design.
• Promote reusability, template-driven implementation, and harmonized global processes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational governance and enterprise architecture standards.

Qualifications:
Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years of overall SAP experience.
• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on SAP Transportation Management (TM) experience.
• At least 1–2 full lifecycle SAP TM Advanced implementations.
• Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA TM.
• Hands-on experience with Embedded TM.
• Expertise in Freight Planning, Transportation Execution, and Freight Settlement.
• Strong configuration experience in SAP TM Advanced functionalities.
• Experience with BRF+ and PPF frameworks.
• Experience developing and reviewing RICEFW functional specifications.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consulting experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience integrating SAP TM with:
  • SAP EWM
  • SAP ERP/ECC
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP GTS
  • SAP Event Management
• Knowledge of transportation optimization and logistics network planning.
• Experience with global template rollouts and multi-country implementations.
• Exposure to SAP BTP and cloud-based integration solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders.
• Strong documentation and solution design capabilities.
• Team-oriented mindset with mentoring experience for junior consultants.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• SAP TM Certification is highly preferred.
