SAP S/4HANA PP/DS Functional Consultant (Automotive)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on SAP S/4HANA PP/DS Functional Consultant to support daily production planning and scheduling operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This is a fully onsite role requiring deep functional expertise in PP/DS, strong troubleshooting capability, and the ability to work closely with manufacturing and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has direct experience supporting capacity planning, detailed scheduling, and PP/DS configuration in S/4HANA and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on capacity planning and detailed scheduling to support daily manufacturing operations.

• Configure and optimize PP/DS planning heuristics and optimizers.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PP/DS and integrated S/4HANA modules.

• Support PP/DS integration with S/4HANA, including data transfer and master data alignment.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and business teams to support production requirements.

• Participate in client-facing meetings and provide clear status updates and issue resolution.

• Support continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes.

Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory)

● Hands-on SAP S/4HANA PP/DS experience (3–4+ years minimum)
● Strong experience with capacity planning and detailed scheduling
● Experience configuring PP/DS heuristics and optimizers
● Knowledge of PP/DS integration with S/4HANA
● Experience supporting Discrete and Repetitive Manufacturing
● Automotive manufacturing experience (mandatory)
● Strong communication skills and ability to manage daily client interactions
● Willingness to relocate to Normal, IL or be within 50 miles (mandatory)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

● Experience or working knowledge of S/4HANA IPPE (Integrated Product & Process Engineering)
● Experience or familiarity with S/4HANA Variant Configuration
● Experience working in plant-floor or production-driven environments
