Job Description
We are looking for an SAP FI Functional Consultant with strong experience in SAP historical data archiving and retrieval. The consultant will work closely with business SMEs and technical/data teams to ensure SAP historical data is correctly interpreted, archived and retrievable after SAP decommissioning.
Key Responsibilities
·Understand historical SAP data being exported and identify the business records that need to be retained.
·Define complete logical business records, including invoice/header/line items, accounting entries, vendor/customer references, attachments and related transactions.
·Identify relationships between SAP tables, fields and exported files to ensure associated records remain linked.
·Prepare source-to-archive mappings covering SAP tables, fields, business meaning, relationships and target archive structure.
·Define business-friendly search and retrieval requirements such as invoice number, vendor, customer, company code, document number, fiscal year, cost centre, etc.
·Work with business SMEs to validate that archived information is sufficient for audit, regulatory and operational enquiries.
·Support reconciliation, completeness and data validation between SAP source data and archived data.
·Define functional test scenarios and support UAT for historical data retrieval.
·Document business rules, mappings and record relationships and obtain formal business sign-off before archival.
·Coordinate with technical teams responsible for SAP data extraction/export and archival activities.
Mandatory Skills
·Strong SAP FI/FICO Functional experience.
·Hands-on experience in SAP Data Archiving / Historical Data Archiving.
·Experience with SAP SARA and/or SAP ILM.
·Understanding of SAP Archive Objects.
·Experience in archive data retrieval and validation.
·Good understanding of SAP FI data structures and relationships, particularly GL, AP, AR and Asset Accounting.
·Experience with SAP tables such as BKPF, BSEG, BSIK, BSAK, BSIS, BSAS or equivalent FI data structures.
·Experience in data mapping, reconciliation and completeness validation.
·Strong communication skills to work with business SMEs and technical/data teams.
·Experience in testing/UAT and business validation.
Preferred
·Experience with SAP decommissioning / legacy data projects.
·Experience reconstructing complete business transactions from historical SAP data.
·Exposure to SAP MM/SD integration and related transactional data.
·Experience with audit/regulatory data retention requirements.
