Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in or lead SAP EWM implementation, rollout, enhancement, and support projects on S/4HANA.
• Work across implementation phases, including Blueprint, Design, Configuration, Testing, Cutover, Go-Live, and Hypercare.
• Configure and support SAP EWM processes, including:
o Inbound and Outbound Processing
o Putaway and Picking Strategies
o Warehouse Structure, Storage Types, and Storage Sections
o Warehouse Tasks, Warehouse Orders, and Wave Management
o Handling Unit (HU) Management
o Physical Inventory and Internal Warehouse Movements
o Yard Management (where applicable)
• Work on S/4HANA Embedded EWM and/or Decentralized EWM scenarios.
• Support integration of SAP EWM with SAP MM, SD, PP, and TM modules.
• Configure and maintain EWM master data, including Products, Packaging Specifications, Work Centers, Resources, and Handling Units.
• Work with RF Framework, RF Transactions, and warehouse automation processes.
• Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP teams on enhancements, interfaces, and custom developments.
• Participate in Unit Testing, Integration Testing, UAT, and defect resolution.
• Troubleshoot functional issues and provide production support and post-go-live stabilization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand warehouse requirements and recommend process improvements.
• For senior-level roles, lead solution design, workshops, implementation activities, and technical-functional discussions.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• 4–15 years of relevant SAP experience, with strong hands-on expertise in SAP EWM.
• Practical experience in SAP EWM on S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience with S/4HANA Embedded EWM is mandatory.
• Strong functional and configuration knowledge of:
o Inbound and Outbound Warehouse Processes
o Putaway and Picking Strategies
o Warehouse Structure and Storage Bin Management
o Warehouse Tasks and Warehouse Orders
o Handling Units (HU) and RF Transactions
o Physical Inventory and Warehouse Process Optimization
• Experience in SAP EWM implementation, rollout, or support projects.
• Good understanding of SAP EWM integration with MM, SD, PP, or TM.
• Ability to independently analyze business requirements, configure solutions, and resolve functional issues.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience-Based Expectations
4–7 Years – SAP EWM Consultant
• Hands-on experience in SAP EWM configuration and support.
• Exposure to at least one implementation or rollout project preferred.
• Good understanding of inbound, outbound, putaway, picking, and HU processes.
• Ability to handle assigned functional tasks and troubleshoot issues.
8–11 Years – Senior SAP EWM Consultant
• Strong end-to-end SAP EWM implementation experience.
• Preferably 2 end-to-end implementation projects, including S/4HANA EWM.
• Ability to independently manage solution design, configuration, integration, and testing.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders.
12–15 Years – SAP EWM Lead Consultant
• Extensive experience in SAP EWM implementations and solution design.
• Experience leading at least 2 end-to-end SAP EWM implementation projects preferred.
• Strong expertise in S/4HANA Embedded EWM architecture and integration.
• Ability to lead functional teams, drive workshops, and manage complex warehouse solutions.
• Experience handling cutover, go-live, and post-production stabilization.
Good-to-Have Skills
• SAP EWM certification.
• Experience with Decentralized EWM.
• Knowledge of SAP Transportation Management (TM).
• Experience with Yard Management, Labor Management, and Material Flow System (MFS).
• Experience with IDocs, APIs, and interface troubleshooting.
• Exposure to warehouse automation, conveyors, and third-party logistics integrations.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or transformation projects.
Preferred Candidate Profile
• Strong SAP EWM functional consultant with hands-on configuration experience.
• Experience working in implementation and/or support environments.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional SAP and business teams.
• Willingness to take ownership of deliverables based on experience level.
