Project: C4CP Replacement/Customer Payments Portal

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Cloud for Customer Payments (C4CP) Functional & Integration Specialist to support the replacement of the existing C4CP customer-facing portal.

The current C4CP solution provides customers with self-service access to account information and capabilities including viewing account statements, invoices, payments and related information. Also includes payment/invoice matching, payment advice, payment creation/management, master-data management and account assignments as C4CP capabilities.

The successful candidate will bridge SAP functional knowledge, SAP technical/API knowledge and solution integration, helping the project team understand how current C4CP functions are implemented and how those capabilities should be reproduced through the replacement portal.

Key Responsibilities

1. C4CP Functional Analysis & Reverse Engineering
  • Analyze the existing C4CP implementation and document end-to-end business processes, underlying SAP dependencies, configuration and data flows.
  • Translate existing C4CP functionality into detailed functional and technical requirements for the replacement solution.
  • Distinguish UI functionality from underlying SAP processing, configuration and integration behavior.
  • Identify required input/output fields, business rules, status handling, filters and dependencies for each C4CP capabilities implemented at Suncor.

2. SAP API Assessment & Data Mapping
  • Identify and assess SAP APIs required to replace current C4CP functionality.
  • Map C4CP functional requirements and data elements to corresponding SAP API fields.
  • Validate API request/response structures, filtering requirements and business-partner restrictions.
  • Identify functionality or data not supported through standard APIs and recommend appropriate SAP-side solutions.
  • Assess impacts from API changes, deprecated interfaces and SAP release changes.

3. Payment & Accounts Receivable Processes
Provide functional expertise across C4CP-supported customer payment processes, including:
  • Open invoice retrieval
  • Full and partial payments
  • Multiple-invoice payments
  • Payment methods
  • Payment status
  • Customer account statements
  • Payment history
  • Due dates and document currency
  • Payment blocks
  • Credit/open-item handling

4. Dispute Management Integration
  • Understand C4CP integration with SAP dispute-management processes.
  • Define requirements for creating and displaying disputes.
  • Map dispute reason codes, statuses, comments, notes and amounts.
  • Assess attachment upload/download requirements.
  • Validate end-to-end interaction between the portal, SAP APIs and SAP dispute objects.

5. Invoice & Document Integration
  • Define SAP integration requirements for invoice display and download.
  • Validate invoice/open-item APIs and associated data mappings.
  • Assess document/attachment retrieval APIs.
  • Support requirements for PDF and associated invoice-document downloads.
  • Validate appropriate customer/account authorization when retrieving documents.

6. Customer & Business Partner Integration
  • Analyze customer/business-partner master-data requirements.
  • Define account-to-user relationships and required SAP data.
  • Validate Sold-To account authorization and filtering rules.
  • Support integration and synchronization design between the customer portal and relevant master-data sources.
  • Ensure APIs restrict returned information to appropriate business partners/accounts.

7. SAP Integration Architecture
Work closely with solution architects, integration developers and SAP teams to define:
Customer Portal → Integration Layer → SAP S/4HANA
Responsibilities include:
  • SAP API/service identification
  • API activation and validation
  • Integration mappings
  • Authentication/connectivity requirements
  • Error-handling requirements
  • SAP-side functional validation
  • Integration testing
  • Performance and data-volume considerations

8. Configuration Assessment
Analyze existing C4CP configuration and determine how equivalent capabilities should be provided in the replacement solution, including areas such as:
  • Pay My Bills
  • Manage My Payments
  • Display My Account Statement
  • Customer/account master data
  • Payment configuration
  • Disputes configuration
  • Attachment/download settings
  • Layout and label configuration
  • User/account assignment
  • Administrative controls

9. Testing & Solution Validation
  • Develop SAP-focused functional and integration test scenarios.
  • Support SIT and UAT.
  • Validate API response/data accuracy against existing C4CP/SAP behavior.
  • Troubleshoot SAP integration defects.
  • Validate payment, dispute, invoice, master-data and document scenarios.
  • Support regression testing associated with SAP upgrades/API changes.


Required Experience
Essential
  • Strong hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience.
  • Strong SAP Accounts Receivable / FI-AR knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP Cloud for Customer Payments (C4CP) or closely related SAP customer-payment solutions.
  • Strong understanding of customer payments, disputes, invoices, open items and account statements.
  • Experience with SAP APIs/OData services and integration patterns.
  • Experience mapping SAP business processes to API-based applications.
  • Ability to analyze API payloads, fields, filters and dependencies.
  • Experience troubleshooting end-to-end SAP integrations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP functional and technical specifications.

Highly Desirable
  • SAP FSCM / Dispute Management experience.
  • SAP Integration Suite / CPI knowledge.
  • SAP Fiori experience.
  • Customer/business-partner master-data knowledge.
  • Experience with document or attachment retrieval from SAP.
  • Experience modernizing or replacing SAP SaaS applications.
  • Experience assessing deprecated SAP APIs/services and identifying successor interfaces.

Critical Skill Profile
The strongest candidate should combine three skill sets:
SAP Functional → FI-AR, payment processing, customer accounts, disputes, master data
C4CP Product Knowledge → Configuration, customer portal processes and underlying C4CP behavior
SAP Integration → S/4 APIs, OData, Integration Suite/CPI, mappings, authentication and troubleshooting
