The SAP HANA DBA is responsible for the support, maintenance, performance and overall health of HANA database infrastructure within the SAP complex, while ensuring high levels of data availability. S/he needs to respond effectively to the continuing demands for information 24/7. The responsibilities include development and oversight of policies and procedures for the administration of the SAP HANA databases, maintenance and upgrades of HANA software and peripheral support products such as HANA Cockpit, HANA Studio, and oversight of backups and standby databases. The SAP HANA DBA will also help set strategic direction for Information Lifecycle Management in conjunction with data owners, and is responsible for database archiving. S/he will work closely with Business Engineers in understanding data access and ensuring proper performance of transactions within the database. S/he will also work closely with the SAP Basis administrators on new systems, enhancements, and upgrades to the SAP environment. The SAP HANA DBA will be the main contact for SAP HANAN vendor support, both technical and administrative.

Scope:

This position maintains global systems. It interfaces with other groups in ITS, Local IT BSC and Help Desks. Scope of projects that s/he leads may include cross-functional participation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day to day administration, support, and monitoring of HANA databases in a large hosted SAP environment.
- Provide technical support - troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade and provide solutions for HANA issues, proactively seek out ways to improve performance and streamline environment.
- Develop standards and processes for support of environment.
- Ensure availability of standby servers, participate in Disaster Recovery tests.
- Manage projects using standard project management techniques.

Summary:

The SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Basis administrator is responsible for the technical performance characteristics of our SAP environment, including network, HANA database, and application server performance. In addition, this position also includes: Providing infrastructure vision and guidance for all S/4 HANA systems, support and maintenance of the entire SAP S/4 HANA landscape, and the administering of SAP's Correction and Transport system.

Scope:

Responsibilities are focused on the operation and management of our Basis environment that supports a single instance of multiple SAP systems. These systems service the business processing needs 24x7x365, globally.

Key Responsibilities:
Install and maintain SAP s/4 HANA software.
Optimize the technical performance characteristics of an SAP environment, including SAP Kernel, network, database, and application server performance.
Provide technical support to business and application engineers.
Perform work at the highest technical level with an in-depth understanding of SAP Kernel, database, network, and system performance configuration and tuning techniques.
Administer SAP's Correction and Transport system(CTS).
Ensure that all objects promoted through SAP's CTS are consistent with respect to one another (i.e. a complete release) and are executable (i.e. no compilation errors).
Serves as a member of SAP infrastructure engineering team for utilization of various client/server platforms.
Performance analysis using HANA Cockpit and other tools.
Participate in SAP infrastructure and architecture design and implementation.
Maintain spooling and printer configurations.
Manage data flow among and between various SAP systems.
Configure database and application servers to support a multi-landscape SAP environment.
