SAP ABAP Consultant (8+ Years Experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant with 8+ years of hands-on development and solutioning across SAP S/4HANA and ECC landscapes. The ideal profile combines strong technical depth in ABAP and SAP extensibility (OData, CDS Views, RAP, BRF+, BAdIs) with solid understanding of functional processes and integration patterns (SAP and non-SAP). The consultant will design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and performant solutions aligned to enterprise standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom objects using ABAP (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms).
- Build modern services and UIs leveraging OData services, CDS views, and RAP/Fiori annotations.
- Implement enhancements via User Exits/BTEs/BAdIs and apply clean-core extensibility patterns in S/4HANA.
- Develop and support integrations (IDoc/ALE, RFC, SOAP/REST APIs) between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Own technical designs, code reviews, performance tuning, and security hardening (authorization checks).
- Collaborate with functional teams (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, CX) to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Execute unit, integration, and regression testing; author test scripts and automate where feasible.
- Prepare technical specifications (TDD), documentation, and support handover/runbooks for operations.
- Troubleshoot production issues; drive root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
- Adhere to DevOps practices: CTS+, gCTS, CI/CD pipelines, transport governance, and code quality gates.
