Job Summary

The Salesforce Developer supports the maintenance and improvement of Wilmot Modular Structures' Salesforce environment, a core business platform connecting sales, estimating, contracting, operations, project management, and finance. The role focuses on practical automation, development, CPQ support, and a better user experience.

Reporting to the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager, this position delivers defined enhancements and smaller projects with technical guidance and review. The developer brings hands-on Salesforce and CPQ experience while building deeper skills in custom development, integrations, and solution design. The manager provides architecture direction, establishes priorities, and reviews complex changes as the developer takes on progressively greater responsibility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and maintain Salesforce Flows and configuration to reduce manual entry, duplicate work, and routine process errors.
  • Develop and modify Apex classes, triggers, and SOQL queries for defined requirements, following established patterns and participating in code review.
  • Configure objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validation rules, and permission sets within established security and access standards.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Salesforce CPQ products, bundles, product and price rules, discounting, and quote templates under technical guidance.
  • Troubleshoot routine CPQ configuration and pricing issues; test quoting changes and assist with approvals, amendments, and renewals as applicable.
  • Support improvements to opportunity-to-quote-to-contract workflows, including pricing accuracy, approval routing, document generation, and operational handoffs.
  • Work with users to clarify requirements and document current processes; propose practical improvements and confirm solution designs with the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager.
  • Create automated notifications, tasks, approvals, and exception alerts based on approved business requirements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot existing integrations and data synchronization; assist with API enhancements and escalate complex issues to the manager or supporting partners.
  • Investigate user-reported errors and automation failures, resolve issues within assigned scope, and document or escalate recurring and complex problems.
  • Support data quality through validation, duplicate management, approved imports, cleanup, and reconciliation of data discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards using agreed business definitions to improve visibility into sales, quoting, contracts, and operational activity.
  • Test changes in sandboxes, prepare test scenarios, support user acceptance testing, and assist with reviewed deployments and post-release checks.
  • Document assigned code, configuration, and process changes; follow established source control, security, testing, and change-management practices.
  • Simplify user workflows, gather feedback, and assist with user guides and training for new functionality. Communicate progress, dependencies, and issues on assigned work.
  • Participate in technical mentoring and progressively expand skills in Apex, CPQ, Lightning Web Components, and integrations while supporting assigned Salesforce initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Approximately 2โ€“3+ years of relevant Salesforce development or advanced administration experience, including hands-on automation and coding work.
  • Hands-on Salesforce CPQ experience required, including maintaining or configuring products, pricing or product rules, and quote workflows, and troubleshooting quoting issues.
  • Strong Salesforce Flow and configuration skills, with working knowledge of Apex and SOQL and the ability to modify, test, and troubleshoot code with guidance.
  • Working understanding of Sales Cloud, opportunity and quote processes, Salesforce data relationships, permission sets, and access controls.
  • Familiarity with APIs and data synchronization, with an interest in developing deeper integration skills; complex integration design experience is not required.
  • Experience testing Salesforce changes in sandboxes and supporting deployments; familiarity with Git/source control and change-control practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lightning Web Components preferred. Willingness to learn additional development tools and apply feedback from technical reviews.
  • Ability to understand user needs, follow defined requirements, manage assigned priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical employees.
