POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Manager drives restaurant revenue through private events, group dining, corporate functions, celebrations, and other sales opportunities. The role develops new business, manages client relationships, converts inquiries into confirmed bookings, and collaborates with restaurant and culinary leadership to deliver successful events and excellent guest experiences.
SALES DEVELOPMENT & REVENUE GROWTH
- Develop and implement sales strategies for private events, group reservations, and special occasions.
- Prospect corporate accounts, hotels, travel agencies, event planners, and local organizations.
- Build client relationships to generate new and repeat business.
- Conduct outreach, networking, sales visits, and client presentations.
- Meet established monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Upsell menus, beverage packages, entertainment, and additional services.
EVENT SALES & CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Respond promptly and professionally to event inquiries.
- Conduct site visits and restaurant tours.
- Prepare event proposals, menus, contracts, and pricing with management approval.
- Negotiate within approved guidelines and follow up to secure bookings.
- Maintain accurate client communications, contracts, deposits, and event records.
- Communicate confirmed requirements to restaurant operations and culinary teams.
EVENT EXECUTION & RESTAURANT COORDINATION
- Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef, and service team.
- Participate in pre-event reviews of menus, timelines, staffing, and special requests.
- Attend important events as needed to support guest satisfaction.
- Address client concerns promptly and conduct post-event follow-up.
REPORTING & PERFORMANCE
- Maintain an updated sales pipeline of inquiries, proposals, and bookings.
- Submit accurate weekly sales reports and track revenue, conversion, and targets.
- Follow up on outstanding proposals and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Participate in performance reviews with restaurant management and Finance.
MARKETING & PARTNERSHIPS
- Coordinate with Marketing on private dining and event promotions.
- Develop relationships with hotels, convention groups, and community organizations.
- Represent the restaurant at relevant networking and industry events.
- Recommend seasonal packages and new business opportunities.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Monthly and quarterly event revenue and achievement of sales targets.
- New events booked, lead-to-booking conversion, and repeat business.
- New corporate accounts and strategic partnerships.
- Timely inquiry follow-up and accuracy of sales documentation.
- Guest satisfaction, operational collaboration, and reporting consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years of restaurant, hospitality, catering, or event sales experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in sales development, client management, and negotiation.
- Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and events concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reservation/event systems; OpenTable experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as business needs require.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Performance will be reviewed during the initial 90 days and periodically thereafter based on sales results, reporting accuracy, client relationships, operational collaboration, and established objectives.
