Hiring: Lube Technician/Porter-Hybrid Role

• Pay: $15.55-$16.60 per hour
• Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday

Department Hours: 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday-Saturday.

This position is located onsite in Salem OR and reports to the Service Manager.

Honda of Salem is searching for an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused team member to join our Service Department in a uniqueHybrid Service Porter / Express Lube Technician role. This position combines the fast-paced responsibilities of vehicle movement and customer support with hands-on automotive maintenance experience.

What You'll Do

Service Porter Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with service lane traffic flow
• Move, park, and retrieve customer and dealership vehicles
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service drive and parking areas
• Wash and vacuum vehicles
• Assist Service Advisors and Technicians with daily operational needs
• Ensure vehicles are delivered to customers in excellent condition

Express Lube Technician Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes
• Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections
• Check and top off fluid levels
• Rotate tires and perform basic maintenance services
• Inspect batteries, belts, wiper blades, and other maintenance items
• Document recommendations reviewed with the customer
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

What You'll Bring

• Previous dealership, porter, or lube technician experience is ideal, but not required
• Interest in automotive repair as a career
• Customer service and communication skills
• Adept to handle high-volume and adapt to our needs
• Team-oriented mindset
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and move throughout the day
• Working knowledge of computers and technology
• Comfort in operating several cars, light trucks, and vans, with an ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence
