Protect the Center, promote student accountability, and help create a safe environment where students and staff can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
  • Assists the Safety & Security Department in maintaining a safe and secure living, learning, and working environment for students and staff.
  • Investigates accidents and incidents under the direction of management, prepares required reports, and recommends corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conducts routine safety inspections and assessments of Center equipment, facilities, and grounds to identify potential safety and security hazards.
  • Enforces applicable occupational safety and health regulations, standards, and Center policies.
  • Conducts and documents accident and incident investigations within established timelines and in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Performs routine Center-wide security tours and assists with student monitoring, supervision, and accountability.
  • Responds promptly and appropriately to emergencies, security concerns, and requests for assistance.
  • Maintains Center security through visitor control, access monitoring, and enforcement of established security procedures.
  • May assist residential staff with dormitory inspections and searches for prohibited items or contraband in accordance with Center policies.
  • Helps maintain the security, orderliness, and cleanliness of Center facilities and property.
  • May provide residential, recreational, and transportation assistance as needed.
  • Produces quality work and completes assignments thoroughly, accurately, and within established deadlines.
  • Maintains appropriate attendance, accountability, and productivity standards.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Applies job knowledge effectively and proactively maintains the skills and knowledge necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Mentors, monitors, and models the Career Success Standards in accordance with the Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH).
  • Provides effective supervision and management of the student population, takes timely and appropriate action to address behavioral concerns, and promotes positive student behavior. Treats students with respect and courtesy while holding them accountable for their actions.
  • Supports quality programs and services that meet student needs and contributes to the continuous improvement of Center operations.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, and contributes relevant information and ideas to team efforts. Provides accurate and timely information to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and Company representatives as requested.
  • Identifies problems, evaluates contributing factors, and recommends appropriate solutions. Follows up to ensure corrective actions are implemented and concerns are resolved.
  • Collaborates with staff across all departments to promote effective student supervision and the delivery of quality services.
  • Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, and Shift Manager, including temporary assignments to support other departments and positions as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid in-state driver's license and ability to meet Company insurability requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and/or assess a load and request assistance when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree.
  • Previous experience working in Job Corps or a related youth development program.
  • Experience in safety, security, incident investigation, emergency response, or a related field.
