Medcor Safety is seeking an experiencedSafety Professional for a short-term electrical substation construction project inMemphis, Tennessee. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with a strong construction safety background who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting crews during overnight operations.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident identifying potential hazards, promoting safe work practices, and partnering with site leadership to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Project Details

• Location: Memphis, TN 38118

• Pay Rate: $40.00/hour

• Per Diem: $875/week

• Schedule: Night Shift – Approximately 84 hours per week

• Project Duration: 1–2 months

• Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

What You'll Do

As a Safety Professional, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations and project-specific requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.

• Work closely with field crews, supervisors, and project management to promote safe work practices and address potential risks.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client-specific safety requirements.

• Document safety observations, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.

• Review and maintain employee safety training records and documentation.

• Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project safety initiatives.

• Assist with developing and implementing site-specific safety plans and procedures.

• Support incident investigations, accident reporting, and the development of corrective actions.

• Build positive working relationships with site personnel while reinforcing a strong safety culture.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant construction safety experience, preferably in electrical, utility, industrial, or heavy construction environments.

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.

• Current CPR/First Aid certification.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.

• Ability to identify hazards, communicate corrective actions, and work effectively with crews and site leadership.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and safety documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.

• OSHA 500 certification.

• Previous experience supporting electrical substation or utility construction projects.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to work in an active construction environment, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, and working on elevated platforms. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
