Job Description:
Ground Support Equipment (GSE) MechanicÂ
Candidate willpossess personal knowledge and skills to perform preventative maintenance on UPS Ground Support Equipment (GSE).  Willproperly diagnose and perform necessary repairs to gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, and electrical systems. Candidate must be willing to work the 2nd or 3rd shift. Schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday. An attractive pay and benefits package is offered. Uniforms are provided. Candidate mustposses all personal tools requiredto performthe job and willbe required to appropriate necessary hand tools as required by job assignment.Â
Ideal candidate willpossess the following:Â
Current documented automotive mechanic experienceÂ
Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computerÂ
Possess a fullcomplement of personal hand toolsÂ
Must have CDL A or B Class C License
Job ResponsibilitiesÂ
Perform daily maintenance and preventive maintenance on all Ground Support EquipmentÂ
Diagnose problems using test equipment, and applicable manuals. Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition components and sensors.Â
Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment.Â
Document repairs,parts and labor on the computer.Â
Meet D.O.T requirementsÂ
Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and turn/pivotfrequently throughout the duration of the workdayÂ
Full time: 8 hours per day, 5 days per weekÂ
Report to work on a regular andtimely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basisÂ
Ability to work varying shifts,additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needsÂ
Sitting required infrequently throughout the duration of the workdayÂ
Lift, lower, push, pull,leverage and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 poundsÂ
Assist in moving packages or equipment up to 150 poundsÂ
Simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasksÂ
Operate standard/manual transmissionÂ
Operate power, pneumatic toolsÂ
Required to wear personal protective equipmentÂ
Must meet all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certifiedÂ
Work in an environmentwith: variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weatherÂ
Work cooperatively in a diverse work environmentÂ
Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks andmaintain proper job safety conditionsÂ
Candidate will have to be fingerprinted

Pay Range:
For this union-represented posting, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions. The starting pay rate for this position starts at $38.24/hr. The company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
