The Security and Communications Dispatcher operates a complex communication system for Adventureland responds to emergency and administrative calls and dispatches public safety and public service personnel and equipment. This position is responsible for directing in-park communication calls, in-park radio traffic, and emergency communication coordination.We are currently looking for a:

Adventureland Park - Security DispatcherRoles & Responsibilities:
Â
General Communication:Â
Operates a radio console and paging system; receives and transmits radio messages; broadcasts pertinent information asrequired.Â
Receives andtransmit park transmissions via Two-Way RadiosÂ
Operates a telephone console; receives and relays messages; directs requests forassistance for security, law enforcement, and EMS to theappropriate agency; prioritizes calls for service and dispatches inan appropriate order.Â
Maintains a complete log of telephone and radio calls received and transmitted via a computerized dispatching system.Â
Inputs data into the computerized dispatching system to produce information for mandated and management reports; enters information into the computer; performs tests of emergency communications equipment.Â
Retrieves online data and paper file information from a variety of sources and relays information to theappropriate destination.Â
Receives and directs messages, inquiries, and information requests from the public to theappropriate source.Â
Performs administrative duties as needed, using a variety of office equipment that includes PC,Windows software,email, faxes, word processing software,copiers, time clocks,papershredders, andall other software or databasesrequired for reporting or record maintenance.Â
Follow standard operating proceduresfor the park location, as well asParquesReunidos/Palace Entertainment.Â
All other duties assigned by leadership.Â
Â
Emergency Services:Â
Contact local law enforcement personnel when circumstances warrant.Â
Report and dispatch on security incidents and threatsÂ
Oversees and report on security surveillanceÂ
Maintains and review security records; periodically report on trends, anomalies, and concernsÂ
Maintainsaccurate andprofessional communications with emergency responders during emergencies.Â
Ability to perform first aid and basicemergency via medical dispatch proceduresÂ
Assists with developing incident reports for emergencies.Â
Â
Education and Experience:Â
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be consideredÂ
1+ year ofprevious experience as a dispatcher, highly desiredÂ
Â
Language:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Â

Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftÂ

Ability tooperate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, two-way radios, walkie-talkies, and/or personal computersÂ
Mustpossess excellentobservation,interviewing, listening, and note-taking skillsÂ
Must have the ability to safeguard confidential park informationÂ
Must be willing to learn andcomprehend stateand locallawsrelated to civil and criminal proceduresÂ
Must have the ability toalways remain alert and vigilantÂ
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and OutlookÂ
Mustpossess effective interpersonal skillsneeded totactfullydeal withother people (bothpublicandhosts) and handle tense situations in acalm and professional mannerÂ
Ability to readandcomprehendfine print on documents and computerized screensÂ
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructionsÂ
Mustpossess strong attention to detail needed foraccurate data entry, report writing, and verbal communicationÂ

Physical Requirements:Â
Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time throughout the entirety of the shiftÂ
Frequent sedentary motion, while sitting andutilizing computer, cameras, or communication equipmentÂ
Ability to stand or walk long distances throughout the park, when neededÂ
Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersÂ
Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objectsweighing 30 pounds or moreÂ
Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayÂ

Working Conditions:Â
This role will bepredominantlybasedin an office settingwith some exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environmentsÂ
Fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities and challengesÂ
