Part timeTo advance the mission and purpose of InterVarsity, this position will focus on learning and preparing for the full responsibilities of a Campus Staff Minister. The Campus Ministry Associate will be assigned work based on skills determined by the application process. This is a one or two-year position in which the individual receives intensive training and exercises ministerial functions consistent with a Campus Staff Minister.While you will complete the general application to work for InterVarsity's Florida Region, you will be hired to work within one of Florida's four areas: Florida East Coast, Florida West Coast, Mid-Florida, or North Florida. We will work with you to discern your preferred location and campus assignment based on your ministry strengths and our places of greatest need.

MinistryLeadership
Participate and be fully engaged in theministryteam tocast spiritual vision and direction, to contribute to the accomplishment of the team’s plans for spiritual growth and transformation, and to provide area leadership in specific areas
Teach students to love,study and apply Scripture to their lives
Learn about andassist in leading in ministry to students and faculty on campus
Promote and press forward the Mission on campus Seek opportunities to proclaim anddemonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Learn to guide chapters (or assigned segments of a chapter) in the development of strategic thinkingregarding witness to the university
Learn to model andassist students and faculty in growing in their love for God's people of every ethnicity and culture
Help to develop student and/or faculty ministry leadership teams, based on developing skills
Encourage a prayerful lifestyle in students and faculty, especially focusing on those who do not yet follow Jesus as Lord and Savior
Engage positively with the supervision you receive from your staffministrydirector
Pastoral Care and Support(assist as assigned and based on skill level)
Provide pastoral care and supportfor studentand/orleadership teams and individual studentsand faculty
Provide training, resources and opportunities for students and faculty for their spiritual development
Recruit studentsand/or facultyand providing specific leadership for conferences and projects
Administration
Perform the necessary administrative tasksrequired to fulfill the purpose of InterVarsity and tocomply with InterVarsity’s policies and procedures
Comply with Risk Management policies
Follow the budgeting and expense reporting guidelines
Lead students in filing annual chapter affiliation, in coordination with assigned CampusStaffMinister
Fulfill area and regional reporting requirements
Fulfill national reporting requirements
Ministry PartnerDevelopmentandPublicRelations
Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to individual ministry partners and churches, through prayer, discussion of ministry efforts, mission, and accomplishments.
Carry out the tasks required for effective fund development and to develop strong public relations for the ministry of InterVarsity
Maintain expenses withinallocated budgets
Securepersonalfinancial,prayersupport andmaintain a ministry among partners who will fund InterVarsity
Develop and implement an annual 30-day plan for raising personal budget
Communicate withministry partners at least four times a year
Cultivate andmaintain supportive relationships with alumni
QUALIFICATIONS
Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement); abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct; believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper. Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation”
Exploring calling to InterVarsity and its mission
Bachelor's degreerequired for non-enrolled candidates assigned to four-year campuses;Associate's degreerequired for non-enrolled candidates assigned to two-year campuses
Prior experience with InterVarsity or other campus ministry preferred (including as a student)
Willing to receive training to become a Campus Staff Minister
Ability to contribute to an open and supportive relationship with ministry team members
Ministry skills:Prior experience teaching spiritual and biblical principles, planning ministry programs, and spiritually discipling others
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
A supervisory decision, with input from theCampus Ministry Associate, is made at the end ofthe term of service as to whether the individual is suitable for continuing employment withInterVarsity.
Pay:This position is funded through personal fundraising. Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary. The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living. The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual’s ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.
