*This is for the LCAC 100 Program The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing PM and corrective maintenance to ensure the success of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on base. This position is responsible for all the cleaning, inspections, troubleshooting, and support across all mechanical, electric and electrical systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct Perform PM, corrective maintenance on all hull/mechanical/electrical, and electronic systems
- Provide hands‑on cleaning, inspections for all systems and report back accordingly
- Disassemble and reassemble any systems, as required
- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs, system readiness, and safety considerations.
- Manage the scheduling and execution of preventative, corrective, and emergent maintenance activities.
- Implement and manage maintenance quality assurance practices to ensure conformance to technical, safety, and procedural standards
- Provide broad craft maintenance capacity and cross-train into specialty areas based on TI/workload needs
- Evaluate performance, maintain accountability, and foster a culture of safety and high technical standards
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team
- Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Education:
- High School Degree Required
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- NAVSEA Connector training required
- CPR certification
- Craft maintenance qualifications preferred
Experience:
- Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar role
- At least five (5) years of experience on aircraft, vehicle, marine, mechanical, or ship maintenance training
- Strong background in NAVSEA
- Knowledge and experience in fall protection
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to lead maintenance teams in high‑tempo environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
- Familiarity with maintenance documentation, inspection processes, safety procedures, and technical work instructions
- Ability tohold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- High level problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Project management principles and practices
- Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership
- Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- This position includes physical activity, personnel must be able to work in environments with the following conditions: repetitive motion, ventilated spaces, heavy lifting, traversing ladders and inclines/declines, climbing/crawling/navigating small and confined spaces, working in kneeling positions, frequent standing, working in hot workspaces due to natural or manmade environments
