Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure the developed software meets the client requirements and the business’ quality standards within the project release cycle and established processes. To lead QA technical initiatives in order to optimize the test approach and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and executeDWH, Database, ETL, and Data Validation testing across end-to-end data pipelines.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensivetest scenarios, test cases, test conditions, and test data.
• Prepare detailedtest plans, test strategies, test estimates, test procedures, and expected results.
• Develop and execute complexSQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, transformation logic, and reconciliation.
• Performsource-to-target data validation and verify data mappings, transformations, aggregations, joins, and business rules.
• Design and executepositive, negative, boundary, exception, and data-volume test scenarios to ensure complete test coverage.
• PerformETL testing by validating data extraction, transformation, loading, error handling, and data integrity.
• Conductfunctional, integration, system, regression, data quality, performance/load, and UAT testing as required.
• Validate data across multiple databases, data sources, staging areas, DWH layers, and reporting/analytics systems.
• Investigate data mismatches and failures using SQL and other debugging techniques, identify root causes, and document findings clearly.
• Log, prioritize, track, and manage defects throughJIRA and ensure timely closure with development and technical teams.
• Performdefect retesting and regression testing after fixes and ensure issues are validated across all applicable test cycles.
• Identify data quality issues and process failures and recommend appropriateremediation strategies.
• Work closely withBusiness Analysts, Developers, Data Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve testing issues.
• Participate actively inAgile ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide regular updates ontesting progress, defect status, risks, dependencies, test coverage, and release readiness to project stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and implementation ofQA standards, testing frameworks, best practices, and reusable test assets.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency throughautomation, reusable SQL scripts, test data management, and process improvements.
• Support testing activities across medium- to large-scale projects and multiple releases.
• Mentor and guide2–3 QA Associates, review their work, and support their technical development.
• Take ownership of assigned testing deliverables and ensure they are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience inDWH Testing and Database Testing.
• Strong proficiency inSQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, and data reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience inETL Testing and understanding of ETL/data pipeline processes.
• Strong understanding ofData Warehousing concepts, including fact tables, dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas, staging, data marts, and data transformations.
• Experience withsource-to-target validation and data reconciliation.
• Ability to analyze data discrepancies, debug issues, identify root causes, and document defects effectively.
• Strong ability to understand business/technical requirements and convert them intoend-to-end test scenarios and test cases.
• Experience infunctional, regression, integration, system, data quality, performance/load, and UAT testing.
• Hands-on experience with at least oneETL tool.
• Experience working withAzure Cloud, preferably Azure Data services.
• Good understanding ofAgile/Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience withJIRA or similar defect/test management tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good written and verbalcommunication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience withAzure Data Factory (ADF) or other Azure Data services.
• Experience withSnowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses.
• Experience testingREST/SOAP APIs.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such asPostman or similar tools.
• Experience with data quality and data profiling tools.
• Exposure toautomation testing or scripting.
• Experience working with reporting/BI tools such asPower BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Experience in performance/load testing of data pipelines or databases.
• Strong stakeholder management and client communication experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent relevant industry experience may also be considered.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Azure certifications, preferablyAzure Data Engineer Associate.
• Snowflake Associate / SnowPro Core certification.
• Relevant QA/testing certifications such asISTQB are an added advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Hands-onSenior QA / DWH Testing professional with strong SQL and ETL testing expertise.
• Strong understanding ofdata validation, reconciliation, data quality, and data warehousing concepts.
• Comfortable working independently on complex testing assignments and taking ownership of QA deliverables.
• Able to communicate effectively withtechnical teams, business stakeholders, and clients.
• Demonstrated experience inmentoring junior QA team members.
• Exposure toAzure and/or Snowflake is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate complex data issues and identify root causes
