What is the role responsible for?

Reporting to the Head of Product & Voice Ops, you will lead our NOC team to ensure the stability & performance of our Core Platform/Network infrastructure.

Your primary focus is driving day-to-day incident response. You will guide the team in reacting to incidents from ourBigPanda AIOps platform, working closely with engineering teams to resolve issues quickly. When major critical incidents occur, you will take charge of setting up and running incident bridges to manage Major Service Outages (MSOs).

Beyond day-to-day triage, you will drive operational efficiency. You willparticipate in a closed-loop feedback process to constantly improve our AIOps monitoring platform and regularly review NOC activities to find and automate manual tasks.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

Here are a few examples of what you could be involved with:

  • Oversee the wider NOC team tomonitor overall stability & and availability of our Core Platform/Network infrastructure.
  • Lead major incident response and resolution, minimisingdowntime and impact on users. Including involvement and ownership of PIR actions. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Manage a team of NOC Engineers spread across 4 shifts.
  • Develop personal and team growth strategies for the wider NOC Engineering team.
  • Oversee the integration of new product & operational support functions into the wider NOC Engineering team.
  • Report against NOC performance & articulate to Senior Management
  • Work closely with development, engineering, and other teams to ensure platform alignment with ourBigPanda AIOps platform.
  • Utilising NOC reporting data toidentify and implement strategies to improve service quality by enhancing current maintenance and troubleshooting processes. Includingidentifyingadditional reporting metrics to gather as technology and/or processes change.

Whatyou’ll bring

Youdon’t need experience in everything listed—butwe’re especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:

  • Previous experience managing a team thatis responsible for managing &operating large scale telco/IP networks.
  • Experience with modern AIOps practices, tooling and a background working in such a team.
  • Has developed and implemented training and development plans for teams and individuals
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast moving and changeable environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive, highly organized, and capable of working well with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • The role requires you to be highly self-motivated and work collaboratively as part of the Gamma Labs department.

A few things to note

We require all candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass a basic DBS check.

This role ishybrid 3-days onsite from our Manchester office.
