POSITION SUMMARY:

Transwestern is seeking a skilled real estate transaction Financial Analyst to join our tenant advisory practice. The role will involve the analysis, review, and interpretation of various real estate documents such as leases, abstracts, operating statements, and market information. Our Financial Analyst will be integral to developing complex financial models to help clients understand the potential implications of their real estate decisions and researching market conditions to support financial scenario assumptions. This position offers the opportunity to work under the direction of senior consultants and peers in a mentoring environment.

The role encompasses a range of responsibilities and skills that are focused on the financial analysis of real estate strategies for commercial office occupiers and owners. The candidate must be proactive, ambitious, and perform at a high-level in a customer-focused, highly time-sensitive, and collaborative atmosphere. A strong grasp of real estate and financial principles as well as modeling concepts are essential to the success of this role.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Create complex and comprehensive financial models to help clients understand the economic implications of various real estate occupancy and ownership strategies.
• Analyze market statistics, trends, leases, draft detailed abstracts, and summarize key lease clauses and economics.
• Research and analyze building ownership and tenant profiles.
• Develop customized client presentations and deliverables.
• Analyze, review, and interpret real estate source documents, including leases, abstracts, operating statements, rent rolls, and other due diligence material.
• Prepare executive summaries and deliver business cases, reoccurring client reports, and client presentations that influence the decision-making of client leadership.
• Organize transaction related documents and term sheets
• Support transaction management with prospecting and pitching new business.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree with high academic achievement in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• 2+ years’ experience within commercial real estate industry, preferably tenant representation.
• Relevant real estate, research, finance, accounting, or economics experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
• Experience with LeaseCalcs a plus.
• Experience with CoStar and other related CRE software a plus
• Strong understanding of financial concepts (i.e., Discounted Cash Flow, NPV, IRR, etc.)
• Ability to review, analyze and interpret source documents, including leases, operating statements, budgets, etc.
• Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI, decision science tools and stochastic modeling (Palisades suite, Python, R) and other business platforms a plus.
• Must demonstrate an aptitude for building and understanding financial models.
• Intellectual curiosity with a demonstrated enthusiasm for the commercial real estate industry.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills in combination with outstanding communication skills (both oral and written).

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000

Eligible for performance based bonus program.
