Position Summary
As aCook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. You may also assist in supervising kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according toapproved menus and dietary guidelines
- Ensure compliance withspecial and therapeutic diets, including texture-modified meals
- Maintain aclean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Followfood safety, sanitation, and portion control standards
- Monitor and recordfood temperatures
- Assist with meal service and ensureappealing food presentation
- Maintain proper sanitizer levels and follow cleaning schedules
- Clean kitchen equipment, work areas, and serving carts
- Collaborate with dietary team and other departments
- Report resident concerns or issues to leadership as needed
- Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably inhealthcare or long-term care
- Must obtain and maintainServSafe Certification
- Knowledge offood safety, sanitation, and dietary needs
- Experience withPointClickCare (PCC) preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
