Job Description

Position Title:ScaffoldBuilder Lead 

Position Reports To:Foreman 

Position Summary 

A ScaffoldBuilderLeaddirects a crew in the Foreman’s absence andresponsible for directing personnel in the safe execution of thesite-specific scope of work items outlined in the contract documents. According to sketches or blueprints, or while adhering to client,OSHA and company standards.  

Essential Functions  

• Follow verbal directions asrequired to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below.     

• Heavy lifting will often berequired to perform tasks.     

• Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.     

• Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time.    

• Clean up of work area, supplies, materials, and equipment.    

• Communicate regularly with the Field Foremanwith regard to issues and concerns on the job site.    

• Responsible for ensuring that work continues in the Foreman’s absence.    

• Comply with all Apache and client safety policies and programs.    

• Maintain a reliable attendancerecords   

• Alwaysmaintains a clean and safe work environment   

• Work unsupervised in an efficient and effective manner.  

• Able to wear all required PPE 

• Other duties as assigned 

Education & Experience 

• Minimum3-4yearsof scaffold experience 

• Minimum 1 year experience with Apache. 

• Supervisory Experience (Preferred) 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Able to give clear and concise instructions to multiple employees in the execution of work. 

• Possess the ability tomaintain basic field equipment such as air compressors, man lifts, forklifts and etcetera. 

• Ability to interpret erection drawings. 

• Ensure that EVERY individual scaffoldcomponent is thoroughly inspected to verify good condition and integrity. Any defectencountered will require removal of services. 

• Ensure that all scaffolds are erected/dismantledin accordance with industry standards and manufacturer, OSHA,Apache and client’s recommendations/requirements. 

• Ensure that completed scaffolds are thoroughly inspected prior to tagging. 

• Update scaffold-tags at the beginning of each shift, or morefrequently ifrequired. 

• Transport materials to the site and erect the scaffold to the dimensionsrequired                          

• Utilize fall protection to secure yourself,tools and materials   

• Hammer material to each locking section 

• Erect scaffolding, install ladders, handrails, platforms, catwalks neededin order to access work area 

• Mustmaintain a positive attitude with crew members. 

• Ensuring good housekeeping isbeing performed throughout the entire project - inside & outside. 

Work Conditions/Physical Demands  

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.   

• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.  

• No adverse environmental conditions expected. 

• Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
