Who we are
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ about 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant with an Audit background looking for that next level to grow your technical expertise and strengthen your advisory skills.

As a Manager, Financial Reporting Advisory Services your responsibilities will include:

•    Participate in engagements with respect to the execution and delivery of complex accounting advisory projects, including facilitating training sessions and leading implementation work on new standards and/or transitioning to a new framework
•    Provide complex accounting support to other engagement teams, which could include acting as a sounding-board or a “second set of eyes”
•    Build and maintain relationships with appropriate levels of client management
•    Understand the client’s industry sector and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developments
•    Continuously learn and share knowledge across the firm and with clients
•    Design and prepare deliverables tailored to client needs
•    Build relationships that enable seamless collaboration with other service lines in order to provide the client with an exceptional client experience
•    Participate in National and local business development initiatives
