ALTEN is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support a major aerospace programme focused onaircraft structural panels and aerostructure components.

This is a senior, supplier-facing position requiring extensive aerospace quality experience. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure manufactured components meet demandingquality, engineering and production requirements.

You will take ownership of supplier quality issues, investigate non-conformances and drive corrective actions to improve supplier performance and ensure consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managesupplier quality activities relating to aircraft structural panels and components.
• Work directly with suppliers to resolvemanufacturing and quality issues.
• Investigatenon-conformances, defects and production deviations.
• Lead structuredRoot Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities.
• Review and manageNCRs and supplier quality documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements inquality and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct supplier quality reviews, assessments and audits where required.
• Ensure suppliers meet relevantaerospace quality and engineering standards.
• Work closely withManufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Procurement teams.
• SupportFirst Article Inspection (FAI) and product quality activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and prevent recurring supplier quality issues.
• Provide senior-level technical guidance on complex supplier and manufacturing quality concerns.

Required Skills:

• 10–15+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Mandatory Aerospace experience needed. 
• Significant experience dealing directly withsuppliers and supplier quality issues.
• Experience withinaerostructures, aircraft structures, panels or aerospace component manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of aerospacemanufacturing and quality processes.
• Experience managingnon-conformances, NCRs and corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge ofRoot Cause Analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience driving supplier performance and quality improvements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required Qualifications:

• ABachelor’s orMaster’s degree inEngineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Aircraftpanels or aerostructures experience.
• Knowledge ofAS9100 and AS9102 / FAI.
• Supplier auditing or supplier development experience.
• Knowledge ofAPQP / PPAP within aerospace.
