Remote Backend SWE

This is a contract position for one of our fintech clients. This person will be working within either the brokerage or crypto teams!

We’re looking for a backend engineer who gets excited about building things that don’t exist yet.
This is not a role for someone who only maintains or “tunes” existing systems — we need someone who can take a blank slate and turn it into a production‑ready service.

You’ll be working ongreenfield projects with a team that values speed, technical excellence, and ownership. This is a6‑month contract role with potential for extension and/or conversion, but in those six months, you’ll make a tangible impact.

• You must bebased in the United States.

• We can’t provide visa sponsorship for this role.

• This is acontract position, fully remote within the US.

• This contract would be a W-2 position,we cannot do a 1099 or C2C at this time

What you’ll do

• Buildbackend services from scratch — from architecture to deployment.

• DesignRESTful APIs andhighly concurrent systems that handle real‑world scale.

• Solve complex engineering problems and make sound decisions about priorities.

• Collaborate closely with other engineers to deliver fast, maintainable code.

• Contribute to a culture of ownership: review code, share knowledge, and mentor where you can.

What makes someone a great fit

• 3+ years of experience in backend development.

• Proven track record ofbuilding greenfield systems (not just maintaining legacy code).

• Proficiency inGolang or Python (both are great).

• Experience withcloud‑native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).

• Strong grasp ofREST API design, distributed systems, and concurrency.
