This position has the ability for possibleremote work but must be able to travel onsite as needed or requested.Ā
Ā
TheTest and Surgery Scheduler arranges surgeries and diagnostic tests with area hospitals and diagnostic facilities based on physician/patient preferences and insurance plan requirements.Ā Ā
Ā
Ā Essential Functions:Ā
Gives general instructions and explains procedures that are scheduled with the patients and provides the patient with written instructions including date, time and facility directions for the procedure that is scheduled.Ā
Coordinates patient care with hospitals, blood donations, radiology,anesthesia and the patientās primary care physician.Ā
Provides patient teaching on surgical procedures; pre and postoperative care via verbal, written and videotaped communication.Ā Ā
Loads all surgeries into centricity filling inappropriate fields in data set and enters surgery in physician outlook calendarĀ
Schedules patient education and medical clearance appointments as needed.Ā
This position obtains second opinions and medical clearance as needed and arranges patient education and medical clearance appointments as needed. Createsreferral, tasks,post op appointments and obtains pre-certification asrequired.Ā
Skills and Abilities:Ā
Knowledge of medical terminology/CPT and ICD9.Ā
Knowledge of interrelationshipof clinical services department.Ā
Ability to communicate with patients, medical facilitiesā personnel and testing centersā personnel.Ā
Qualifications:Ā
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.Ā
Associateās or Bachelorās degree preferred.Ā
A minimum ofone year medical office experience.Ā
Previous high volume surgery scheduling experience preferred but notrequired.Ā
Familiar with insurance companies,CPT and ICD9 codes.Ā
