About the role

As a Youth & Young Adults Secretary, this is your opportunity to strengthen and shape youth and young adult ministry across the region, supporting current programs while helping to develop future ministry initiatives that engage the next generation

This is a permanent, part-time role offering 19 hours per week, based in Northbridge, WA.

How you will make an impact

• Support the implementation of the National Youth & Young Adults strategy, building leadership capacity through coaching, training, and ministry development.
• Plan and deliver impactful events that engage young people, support frontline ministries, and model best practice.
• Coach, develop, and support regional youth ministry leaders and teams to strengthen ministry effectiveness.
• Partner with Area Officers, local leaders, and Mission teams to identify opportunities, share resources, and ensure consistent ministry practices.
• Stay informed on emerging trends, research, and the evolving needs of young people, providing insights to strengthen regional and national ministry outcomes.
• Facilitate outcome-focused initiatives, support leader engagement with programs and events, and champion safeguarding practices that protect vulnerable people.

What you will bring

• Relevant qualification in youth and young adult’s ministry or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and experience in youth and young adult’s ministry including in pastoral care.
• Comprehensive understanding of The Salvation Army Culture.
• Active involvement in church ministries with the Salvation Army
• A Working with Children Check is required
• A national police record check is required
