ThePayroll Tax & Compliance Manager serves as the regional authority for payroll taxation, statutory compliance, and regulatory governance across APAC. The Payroll Tax & Compliance Expert ensures payroll operations remain fully compliant with evolving local legislation, minimizes financial and regulatory risk, and provides expert guidance to payroll operations, HR, Finance, and leadership. This role strengthens payroll governance, audit readiness, and statutory accuracy across all APAC payrolls. This position reports to the Senior Manager of APAC Payroll and is part of the Corporate organization.
 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Ensure full compliance with country and regional payroll tax regulations across the APAC region and support the alignment of payroll tax processes with standardized workflows across the countries within the APAC region.
• Lead internal and external audits across multiple jurisdictions and manage responses to tax authorities. Oversee registration and compliance in new jurisdictions. Proactively respond to regulatory updates and ensure timely compliance.
• Drive consistency in tax procedures and documentation across countries. Track legislative changes across the APAC region and assess their impact on payroll tax operations.  Educate Payroll and other business departments on legal changes impacting Payroll and the business
• Manage relationships with payroll tax vendors and third-party filing agents. Monitor service levels, accuracy, and timeliness of filings.
• Collaborate with Payroll operations and IT to enhance tax reporting capabilities while supporting the implementation of tax automation tools and system upgrades.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and Compensation teams to address taxable benefits, equity, and executive compensation matters.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar discipline or a minimum of 7 years of related payroll experience
• Minimum 5 years payroll tax experience
• Deep expertise in payroll tax, social security, and statutory payroll compliance along with strong multi‑country APAC payroll compliance experience
• Proven ability to lead regional tax initiatives within broader payroll transformation efforts.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Fluent in English required;  additional European languages highly advantageous .
• Experience with regional payroll platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies and optimize tax processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to lead regional tax initiatives within broader payroll transformation efforts.
