Introduction to Role:
The Senior Director,GlobalRegulatory Digital Strategyis accountable for the development and implementation of a robust digital strategy which aligns to and meets the needs of theGlobalRegulatory business. In this role, you will partner extensively with senior Regulatory business leadersto ensure understanding of business priorities and needs. You will also partner extensively with other keyinternalstakeholder groups(e.g.,IT,Enterprise AI Unit, Enterprise Data Office,Regulatory Systems,ProcessExcellence, Change Mgmt., Finance, etc.) as well as drive collaboration with key external industry partners/peers/agenciesto ensuredelivery and implementation of a robustGlobalRegulatory DigitalStrategy encompassingpeople, process and technology.
You will lead thedevelopment and implementation of aGlobal Regulatorydata strategy that enables successfulachievement of the overall Digital strategy. To assure success in this space, you will work closely with and influenceotherinternalRegulatory data teams as well as data offices across R&D, ITand at the AZ-enterprise level.
You will also lead a team of digital product ownersthat willassist instrategydevelopmentas wellasdrive thesuccessfulachievementofannualstrategygoals. You will mentor and guide these resources to ensurecontinuous learning and effective engagementto drive strategy delivery to plan and timelines.
This leadership role will also ensure proper digital governance in collaboration with the Regulatory Technology Governance Council (RTGC) and Regulatory Management Board (RMB). The Senior Director,GlobalRegulatory Digital Strategywill drive the evolution and continued improvement of both the RTGC as well asRegulatory’sGlobaldigital portfolio management capabilities to ensureand safeguardsuccessfulachievement oftheGlobalRegulatory Digital Strategy.
As the Senior Director,GlobalRegulatory Digital Strategy, you will bring strongRegulatory andleadershipskillsas well asextensivedemonstrated successinthe digital arena (e.g.,AI,agentic AI,data,digital strategies, product ownership, etc.).
Accountabilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implementadigital strategy(data strategy inclusive)that supports theRegulatory mission andobjectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Digital Transformation:Partner withdigital initiative sponsors toleverageinnovativetechnology,people and process improvementopportunities todrivespeed,efficiency, transparency,and increased business value across Regulatory.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders(IT, Process, Change Mgmt.,and Regulatorybodies/consortia/vendors)to ensure digital strategies meetcurrentregulatory requirements andfutureindustryexpectations.
Innovation:Identify and implement innovative digital solutions tothat address business priorities.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of digital professionals focused on delivery of innovation use cases whilefostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Data&Analytics:Design and deliver a robust data foundation that enables advanced AIand analyticscapabilitiesacross Global Regulatory.Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to measure the effectiveness of digital strategies and make data-driven decisions.
Compliance: Ensure all digital initiatives are compliant with regulatory standards and best practices.
Governance: Lead the development and evolution ofdigital governance and portfoliodeliverycapabilities to safeguard and ensureachievementof business value that aligns with the digital strategy.
DigitalExpertise: Proficient oncurrent and future digital trends across Pharma or other relevant industries to ensure the Regulatory Digital Strategyremainsrelevant and competitive.
Fiscal Mgmt.: Oversee all financial aspects related to the digital team and portfolio.
Lifecycle Management: Partner with Regulatory Systems team to define and ensureappropriate product owner transitions from innovation team to product maintenance team
Essential Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree inAI/ML, datascience ora related field
7+ years’ leadershipexperience in digital transformationin healthcare,Pharma or a drug development environment
5+ years’ experience in portfolio management and governance
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and inspire teams towards achieving strategic goals.
Strong ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and senior leadership.
A forward-thinking mindset with a passion forleveraging technology to drive change.
Proficient in using data to drive strategic decisions and measure outcomes.
A thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and the ability to ensure digital initiatives meet these standards

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from$212,994 to $319,441. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
